Federal Judge on Car Max: “I Wouldn’t Send My Children There.”

CarMax likes to advertise their certified and inspected cars. However, they really don’t like to tell you the specifics of their inspections. While they perform an inspection and create a report, they destroy the report instead of giving it to their customers. Instead, they just give their customers a generic piece of paper that says everything is fine, but has nothing to do with the specific car being purchased.

When CarMax was sued for this practice, the case came before a panel of federal judges on appeal. They had strong opinions about Carmax’s practices with one of the judges going so far as to say that she would tell her children not to shop there.
